To-do in your honeymoon holidays in Crete and Chania: Visit Kasteli Kisamos and Falasarna beach

In your luxury honeymoon holidays in Crete, there are lot of things to do in the area around Agia Marina and Chania city. But the region of Chania has many hidden charms for honeymoon visitors. And two of the best are to the west of Agia Marina and Thalassa Beach Resort.

The northwest part of the area of Chania is an ideal place if you want calm and tranquillity in your honeymoon holidays. It is one of the most secluded parts of Crete, although it is now easily accessible by a new motorway.

The two best destinations in northwest Chania for a short charming trip during your luxury honeymoon holidays in Crete, are Kasteli Kisamos and Falasarna beach.

Kasteli Kisamos – traditional beauty on a marvellous bay in your honeymoon holidays in Crete

Kasteli Kisamos, or more simply Kisamos, is the biggest settlement west of Chania city, in a distance of about 35 kilometres from Agia Marina. It is a big village (or a small town, if you prefer) that has managed to keep its traditional character alive. This has to do with its relative isolation in the past.

Today, Kisamos is a perfect place to visit for some select, authentic experiences during your luxury honeymoon holidays in Crete. Although you will find some small hotels here, a good part of its residents is still occupied in agriculture, and the village has a very unique atmosphere, unlike that of a typical coastal village in Crete.

Apart from the known Kisamos olive oil, the village is also known for its beautiful bay. Kisamos Bay is one of the most magnificent places in Crete to visit and enjoy in your honeymoon holidays. It is formed by the two biggest peninsulas in Crete, Rodopou and Gramvousa.

Probably a “must” stop in your honeymoon holidays in Crete and Chania is one of the nice cafes on the pedestrian road by the beach. Here is the best place to admire the grand view of Kisamos Bay is. Just sit there, relax, and feel with all your senses.

Falasarna – a magnificent beach at the northwest edge of Chania and Crete, and a magical place to visit in your luxury honeymoon holidays

Falasarna beach is arguably one of the best beaches in Crete. It is in a distance of about 40 kilometres west from Agia Marina.

The beach is huge. The most organized – and known – part of the beach is called “Pachia Ammos” (which stands for “thick sand” in Greek). In Pachia Ammos you will find sun beds and parasols and a beach bar where you can also have a light lunch.

If you seek isolation during your honeymoon holidays in Crete and Chania, then possibly the best location for you is the northern part of the beach, at the end of the paved road that follows the coastline. Here you find the most remote – and pristine – beach of Falasarna. There is also a very good tavern and a bar.

If you can, visit Falasarna beach at time to see the sunset: the sunset at Falasarna beach, with the sun “diving” in the west Cretan Sea is fantastic, and sure to be one of the things you are going to remember from your honeymoon holidays in Crete.

Kasteli Kisamos and Falasarna are two great places and select travel experiences in the northwest edge of Crete, each for different reasons. As the road leading there from Agia Marina and Thalassa Beach Resort is in excellent condition, you really have no excuses to not visit them during your luxury honeymoon holidays in Chania and Crete.
